Tiernan Graham

Background

Tiernan is a UK Chartered Trade Mark Attorney, having qualified in 2024. He joined Dehns in 2021 after completing both an undergraduate degree in Law and a master’s degree in International Law at the University of Bristol, achieving First Class Honours and a Distinction respectively. During his time at Bristol, he received a letter of commendation from the Law School and developed a strong interest in intellectual property law, particularly trade mark law.

He works with clients operating across various industries, including cosmetics, energy, finance, food and drink, entertainment, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and software.

He has experience in all aspects of trade mark filing, prosecution, and enforcement, including:

• • Conducting trade mark availability searches and advising on filing strategies
  • Responding to official objections from Intellectual Property Offices, including drafting and filing substantive responses
  • Pursuing and defending oppositions, including preparing submissions and evidence
  • Reviewing surveillance reports and watch notices, and advising on enforcement strategies
  • Negotiating, drafting, and finalising settlement agreements
  • Implementing customs protection and taking action against counterfeit goods

Tiernan also has extensive experience managing international trade mark applications and national applications in overseas territories.
