Charlotte is a Senior Associate of the firm and a qualified UK and European Patent Attorney dealing with a wide variety of technologies in physics and engineering fields. She has a particular focus on mechanical engineering inventions and the aerospace and space sectors.
Charlotte became an Associate in 2021, and a Senior Associate in 2026. She graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2014 with first class honours in Physics and Astrophysics. Following university, Charlotte gained industry experience working at the defence technology company QinetiQ, and then joined the patent profession in 2015. Charlotte initially worked at another IP firm in London before joining Dehns in 2018.
In 2025, Charlotte spent six months at our Oslo office and worked directly with Norwegian clients. This has allowed Charlotte to develop expertise in the Norwegian patent system.
Charlotte has experience working with a wide variety of clients in the UK, Norway and worldwide, including individual inventors, start-ups, multinational companies and overseas attorneys.
Charlotte’s work includes drafting and prosecuting patent applications before the European Patent Office (EPO), the UK Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO) and the Norwegian Industrial Property Office (NIPO), as well as providing infringement and validity advice. Charlotte also has significant experience opposing and defending patents in opposition and appeal proceedings at the European Patent Office.
Charlotte works on patent cases in a range of engineering and physics fields including medical devices, aeronautical engineering, marine engineering, additive manufacturing, oil and gas technologies, and disposable personal care products. She also has experience working on cases relating biometric payments, telecommunications, and satellite communications.
Charlotte leads our Space Technology team and regularly attends events and conferences to keep up-to-date on developments in the space industry, and particularly in the UK and Norwegian space sectors.
