Dehns is delighted to announce that Lauren Palmer, a paralegal in Dehns’ Oxford office, has been named as a finalist in the patent category of The National Paralegal Awards taking place next month.  Lauren has been a part of the Dehns team for three and a half years as a patent paralegal and has proved herself to be invaluable in her role, providing outstanding client service, highly developed commercial and legal awareness, and incredible attention to detail.

Paralegals are highly-valued members of legal teams, so much so that the legal system would struggle to operate successfully without them. Paralegals provide employers, businesses and consumers a cost-effective way of tapping into legal expertise and support. The National Paralegal Awards are an opportunity for the legal sector to recognise and reward outstanding Paralegals in the UK.

The finalists in each category are selected from those whose qualified entries have been examined by an expert judging panel and we are very proud that Lauren has been nominated as one of the finalists. The overall winners will be announced at a live awards ceremony in Birmingham on 22 September.

Lauren is a certified IP Paralegal member of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA) and serves on the CIPA Journal’s Editorial Board. Lauren’s colleagues attest to her indispensable skill with such testimonials as:

“I can honestly say that the quality of what she produces, absolute attention to detail and instinctive client service aptitude are completely unparalleled in my 26 years of experience working in the profession.”

– Adrian Samuels, Managing Partner at Dehns

“I cannot stress enough how impressive she is as a paralegal and a colleague. She is so committed and invested into her work which is evident by her enthusiasm, knowledge and skills.”

– Virginia Ivanova, Patent Administrator at Dehns

Key clients have also been highly complimentary of Lauren’s skills and attitude, and were willing to support Lauren’s nomination by providing glowing testimonials such as the examples below:

“All I can say is that Lauren is one of the most competent, communicative, detail-oriented paralegals that I’ve ever worked with. The volume of work that she deals with daily (still maintaining an accuracy that is mind-boggling) is tremendous and yet she always appears composed and approachable.”

– Patent Prosecution Assistant at a large US IP law firm

“I would like to recommend Lauren for the award because even though we work with strict and numerous deadlines she always manages to maintain a friendly and welcoming attitude in her communications and a cool head with urgent matters. She is an easily approachable person with excellent knowledge and understanding of intellectual property matters.”

– Senior Patent Engineer at a high tech company which is a key client of Dehns

We all wish Lauren the best of luck on 22 September.
