"Designs are what I would call one of the more shy IP rights; if they were people, they'd be found towards the back of the room, whilst patents, trade marks and copyright would be competing for the spotlight. However, I would argue that designs have as much value to a business as any of these other IP rights - they are part of a toolkit of Intellectual Property Rights."
