Thomas joined Dehns in 2013 having graduated from Oxford University with a first class Master of Chemistry degree in 2009 and having completed a DPhil in organic chemistry, also at Oxford University.


Type of clients and client work 

He works with clients ranging from large multinational companies to individual inventors. He is involved with the drafting of new patent applications, all aspects of patent prosecution, as well as opposition and appeal procedures before the EPO.



Thomas handles a wide range of work in the chemistry sector. In particular he has been involved with applications relating to: foodstuffs, chewing gums, coatings, paints, materials, alloys, polymers, cables, pharmaceuticals and drug delivery.

His DPhil research involved developing the research group’s chemistry and applying this successfully to the synthesis of a natural product. This led to two publications in peer-reviewed journals.
