Helping enhance the lives of young carers and vulnerable children

Dehns is delighted to announce a new partnership with The Honeypot Children’s Charity, the only charity in the UK to provide respite breaks and on-going outreach support to young carers and vulnerable children. Chosen by our employees, we are committed to supporting this worthy cause throughout 2019.

Very few services exist for young carers, and increasingly, services that support children who live in poverty are disappearing. Honeypot offers consistent and regular support to children between the ages of 5 and 12. Without Honeypot, many of these children would have nowhere else to turn.

Official figures suggest there are 195,000 young carers in the UK, but it is more than likely there are many more from families that do not come forward or others being misrepresented.  Young carers often find it hard to relate to their peers, struggle to concentrate in school and have little time to play with friends and take part in after-school activities. Through Honeypot’s outreach support, these children have a safe and nurturing environment, where they can make friends, build their self-esteem and just have a chance to play freely.

Dehns looks forward to raising money for such a great charity. This year will see us taking part in a number of fundraising activities from bake off competitions to sponsored sporting events and from dress down days to quiz nights.

In addition to our support for Honeypot, Dehns will also be fundraising for a number of other local charities in the vicinity of each of our offices.
