Laura is a Technical Assistant in the Dehns Biotechnology Group. She joined the Dehns London Office in April 2022 after completing a PhD in Medical Imaging at University College London (UCL) where her research focused on developing translational imaging biomarkers of Huntington’s disease. Prior to completing her doctorate degree, she obtained a BSc Honours Degree in Medical Sciences (including an industrial placement year at GSK) from the University of Leeds, an MRes in Experimental Neuroscience from Imperial College London and an MRes in Medical Imaging from UCL.
BSc Medical Sciences (Industrial) (First Class Honours), University of Leeds, 2015
MRes Experimental Neuroscience & Diploma of Imperial College (Distinction), Imperial College London, 2016
MRes Medical Imaging, University College London, 2017
PhD Medical Imaging (Neuroscience), University College London, 2021
Laura was awarded her PhD in 2021 having undertaken postgraduate research at the UCL EPSRC CDT in Medical Imaging and the Francis Crick Institute. Specifically, her research focused on using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques to investigate metabolic changes in the brain detectable using MRI to develop novel imaging biomarkers of Huntington’s disease.
