Michael joined the firm in 2010. He obtained a first class honours degree in Biotechnology and was subsequently awarded a PhD Scholarship to carry out a project in the field of immunology and inflammation at University College Dublin. His research examined the non-phlogistic phagocytosis of apoptotic cells by macrophages.
Michael then carried out postdoctoral research at University College Dublin and later at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland where he investigated the role of novel interactors of BH3-only proteins in cell death and cancer.
During his MSc course in Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) Michael took part in the 11th Congress for the European Intellectual Property Institutes Network (EIPIN) and was awarded the EIPIN Diplome D’Honneur. He was also awarded the Principal’s Prize from QMUL for Outstanding Academic Achievement.
