Senior Partner
Mike Butler joined the firm in 1973. He is a graduate of the University of Cambridge where he studied physics and materials science under a scholarship from Marconi. He was awarded the Gill Prize by the Chartered Institute of Patent Agents for achieving first place in the Final Examinations. He has the Diploma in Intellectual Property Litigation from Birkbeck College, University of London, and is certified to conduct intellectual property litigation in the higher courts.
Michael handles patent work in a number of physics, engineering and computer related fields, and specialises in software-related inventions, and the protection of business methods. He also handles trade marks and designs. He is active in contentious matters and licensing.
