David joined the firm in 2013 after completing a PhD in Materials Science at The University of Manchester. He also holds a Masters degree in Physics from the same institution.
During his PhD he studied woven body armour at high speed using laser Raman spectroscopy. During his Master's project he studied fabricated nanomaterials exhibiting negative refractive index - this technology has the potential to form, single-molecule biosensors, cloaking devices, and perfect lenses not subject to the diffraction limit.
David handles patent work in various physics, materials, and engineering fields.
