At Dehns we recognise the financial pressures that biotech start-ups, spin-outs and SMEs may be under. We appreciate that the patent system can be daunting and that you would like guidance as to whether you are at the right stage to seek patent protection before committing to a patent filing.
Help is now at hand as we offer a free advice programme for biotech entrepreneurs and businesses. In our experience, providing advice and support at an early stage gives your the best possible chance of maximising your intellectual property assets. This is why we invite you to take advantage of the expert support available under our patent guidance scheme.
What can you expect from our patent guidance scheme?
Clear, candid advice from our friendly and highly knowledgeable experts. We will spend up to 12 hours free of charge to help you to develop an IP strategy by addressing key issues such as patentability, ownership and filing strategy. This may include the review of an invention disclosure and some key prior art to provide you with an informal patentability assessment.
We can also provide you with advice on other forms of intellectual property such as trademarks; and make sure that you are aware of relevant government tax relief, funding and business support schemes such as the patent box and growth vouchers.
Is it right for you?
Yes! We pride ourselves in giving commercially focussed advice that is individually-tailored to your needs. Contact us for a no-obligation chat.
Are there any exclusions?
This scheme is only open to companies or individuals in the life sciences or biotechnology fields.
The free advice does not extend to the provision of any formal reports or the drafting or filing of any patent applications, but participation in the scheme will create a very favourable starting point for such services.
How can you get started?
